Nothing makes you more warm and fuzzy....
My mom always told me about college and how she practically lived on chicken noodles. I kind of though of it as a being broke thing. But it wasnt. She told me she ate only chicken broth with some skinny egg noodles thrown in for almost a year and lost a ton of weight doing that. She made her dish for my dd's for lunch while we were visiting. It was literally home made broth, (made from boiling a chicken carcass for a couple of hours and then skimming the fat off after it cools) with a handful of dried skinny egg noodles thrown in. There is no salt, no seasoning of any kind and just broth and noodles. She ate that for a year. Wow. She took a taste and got this happy look on her face and said 'tastes just how I remember'.
She has been trying to loose weight lately and I know she started off doing it the right way. She has lost about 25 lbs and that amount looks like a lot on her. The kids and I visit frequently and we stay the whole day sometimes. She has coffee and one or two turkey Pre cooked sausage links from aldi's. I can't remember the calories on them but it's not very much. She usually has a Greek yogurt OR a little tiny microwave 'meal' the salisbury steak one is bitty and has less than 200 calories. For dinner she has iceberg lettuce salad with sliced tomato, and few random leftover veggies, no dressing and a chicken breast, or she will have a soup. She isn't eating many calories.
It's frustrating. She doesn't count calories at all but by watching what she eats, it's not enough. I tell her and she says she feels full and is sure she is getting enough.
