So I am interested to know where you ladies are on your weightloss? What was your starting weight? What's your current height/weight? What's your goal? What has worked or is working for you?
I just started my weightloss challenge (Monday) after being on hiatus for a few months, eek. I knew it was time when I gained 8lbs of the 42 I lost.
I'm currently using myfitnesspal to track calories and have been doing Leslie Sansone's DVD's. I'm debating Jillian's 30 day shred as well, have you done it? what's your opinion? :) I gained over 50lbs with my last baby and so far have lost 34. Hoping to lose 25 more.
That's awesome!! I was wondering about eating calories back, obviously that worked for you? I've heard mixed opinions on it. I really want to get a heart rate monitor so I can track my calories.
What workouts do you do at home?
Quoting Threes.Company:
I am 5'9. I started way back in January 2011 at 185. I am now down to 139. I started at a size 12/14, and I am now at a size 4.
I lost weight through regular exercise, including both strength training and cardio. I work out 5-6 times per week doing 60-90 min workouts. I now do long distance running and triathlons, too. I used MFP to count calories and a Polar heart rate monitor to track burned calories that I'd eat back.
That's awesome!!! For me (with my busy schedule) I think walking is the one thing I can continue doing after my goal is reached. I've seen people get great, long term results just but walking and watching what they eat so seems like a good plan!

My starting weight: 205
Goal weight was 135, i got down to 120 and I'm 5'8 and people were saying i was to small...blah. So i got up to 130. Currently I'm 138. I have school and a hubby on different schedules so i stopped walking everyday. I was walking 8miles a day 7days a week but don't have alot of time right now. But i am getting back on track with it, i hate not working out, makes me feel icky. I wear a size 5-6 depending on the brand and style. You'll get there just gotta find a routine that works for you. Walking was the best out of dieting, shakes, pills and whatever other diets i tried. Got me from 205 to 120 in a little less than a year. I also ate smaller portions and fruits

Well "starting weight" was 240 (That was the day I went into labor with my daughter 8 months ago). But what I consider "starting weight" is 209 (what I weighed when I got pregnant).
What's your current height/weight? What's your goal? What has worked or is working for you?
Height 5'3" Weight 188
1-month goal weight 185
1-year goal weight 145
Ultimate Goal weight 125
What has worked: #1: Understanding and applying the concepts of BMR. I had been following most conventional "diet plans" restricting myself to 1200-1500 calories. This time around I heard about the philosophy that you should never eat below your BMR to prevent your body from going into starvation mode. I never knew my BMR, and I calculated it out using an online calculator. I then calculated my daily calorie requirements at my goal weight based on my bmr and a sedentary lifestyle (to create a larger calorie defecit). I am now tracking my calories with myfitnesspal and eating at that level +500 calories for breastfeeding.
Since Jan 2012 I have lost 20lb following this method with absolutley minimal exercise. (I few jogs but mostly just trying to go for a walk 1-2 days/week).
Now that I have my momentum going I joined a gym that has childcare. So far I have had my initial orientation with the personal trainer, (which was an awesome strength workout) and a fun aqua zumba class. My plan is to develop a strength training routine for myself, and aim to take 2 classes/week. (all classes are included in my membership).

That is great success!! Have you calculated out your calorie needs at your goal weight to help you maintain when you lose those 25lb? I bought Jillian because it was only $7 but she's too hard on my knee (I need to get it checked out, it's been an issue since high school but it's starting to aggravate me now). One thing I iked about my training session was he showed me how to modify lunges so I still get a workout to my legs without straining my knee. (I should add it's not like my legs aren't STRONG enough to do the lunges/squats, it's a sharp pain in my knee when I'm going up/down. that is part of my motivation to lose weight and take pressure off of the joint.)

I lost 27 pounds on Dukan diet weight loss plan last summer and I’ve kept the weight off ever since. Its a low carb, high protein diet which is really easy and quite fun. I did have days of doubt, but then again its not like I had an option to quit, so I just got decided to tough it out and keep at it. Boy, am I glad I did, because I lost the weight in 12 weeks! A year later, I still eat the right kind of carbs along with my meals and work out 4 times a week. It’s great and one of the best things I’ve done for myself.
Check out the Bode Burn
I have followed this program myself has so much more to offer for overall health and with weightloss.

I may not be the best person to advise as I only want/wanted to lose between 5 and 10 pounds, which ended up being harder than I ever could have imagined actually. I don't like admitting that, but it's true. You'd think 5 pounds would be nothing, but I guess what they say is true: the closer you are to your goal weight the harder it is. I have a tendency to add muscle mass easily, but getting the scale to budge was near impossible even with using MFP and being very good about it. Nothing really made my clothes loose on me until I started running. I just finished couch to 5k and have lose the 5 pounds and a clothing size and look much leaner. I grew to love running (NEVER thought I'd say that!) and am pretty happy with where I am now.
i gained about 20 lbs so i decided it was time for a change...ive done the myfitness pl calorie count before as well as a diet heart patients use before surgery (makes you lose the most fast but hard to kep it off) .....this time im going with something different...im jsut eating healthier and smaller portions....i just started last monday and ive lost 6 pounds...my start weight was 140...my first goal is 120 and then onto 110...so ive got a ways to go but its going great so far
