Increased Heart Rate & Breathing

I'm new to exercising and for the past few days I've been walking. I tried running a little bit while I was walking to increase my heart rate. When my heart starting beating faster and my breathing increased, it was a scary feeling and it made me anxious. I was wondering if anyone else has ever felt this way and how they get through feeling anxious or panicky when their heart pumps really fast and it's hard to take a breath.

I actually do yoga, and their breathing techniques help a lot for all kinds of exercise.  When my heart is beating fast and I feel like I want to huff and puff I slow down and take a huge deep breath from my nose, hold it for a few seconds and let it out.  I do that a few times and I feel better.  It calms me down and gives my body the oxygen it needs.
