Hi all...My name is Michelle and I am 45 years old...I weigh currently 163 pounds...I have been married to a wonderful man (second marriage) for 14 years on 9/26...I am 5'1 and when we got married 14 years ago, I was 126 pounds and was wearing a size 6...now I wear a size 12 (not very comfortably though)...this will be my first time doing a journal, but I think it will help me to be accountable daily (at least Monday through Friday as I can't post on weekends) on what my eating habits are and exercise that I am getting into my regime.
I have two grown sons, Jonathan is 24 and a SAHD while the mother works and they have given me two beautiful grand-daughters (Jaylin is 4 and Velena is 18 mos.)...my youngest Joshua, who is 22 just left home (hence the "empty nest" in my title) on August 13th to go to the University as a Junior which is an hour and a half away...so, now I need to spend my free time, that I have now, doing something for me and that is to become a more healthy wife, mom and grandma...my goal is 5 pounds a month...I am hoping by May 2013 to be back to my 126 (actually calculated at 125)...and if I can do that, I would like for my husband and I, that is if I can maintain that weightloss until our 15th wedding anniversary, to renew our vows wearing my same (size 6) wedding dress....we will see what happens.
I started this journey June 1, 2012 at 172 pounds and I am currently doing low carb/low calorie...I try to keep my carb intake under 50 g per day and my calorie intake around 1200 per day with exercising at a gym that I joined a month ago for a year doing 4 days a week of cardio (15 min. on the bike/45 on the treadmill) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays as Wednesday and Sunday, I am going to put my Lord first...after all with prayer too, I believe He will help me succeed with this journey that I am attempting to embark upon...I quit smoking on May 23, 2012 as well...I also do some breast and arm exercises with 5 pound weights on Tuesdays and Thursdays and do 50 situps EVERY morning.
I am going to list what I eat here and the exercise and water that I do/drink as well every day (monday through friday)....I am really hoping that this will help me be accountable and at the end of every post, I will put my Friday weigh in results...so, here goes day one (by the way...since June 1st, I have lost 8 pounds as of today...I started out at 172 and today, praise God, I am 163...I was stuck at 164 for the WHOLE month of August...so glad to have lost that pound...you would think I lost 10 due to my excitement this morning...but will give my God the glory for every pound that I lose.
Day 1 on my journal:
B: Breakfast Cupcake
L: 6 oz. of Rotisserie Chicken/1 avocado
D: One Beer Brat w/One Low Carb Tortilla
S: 2 oz. of Monterrey Jack Cheese & (after dinner snack) - 1/2 cup of Low Carb Chocolate Mousse
Total Calories: 1268
Total Carbs: 4 (that is minusing the fiber)...carbs were actually 27 for the day with 23 fiber.
Water: I drink 5 (18 oz.) cups of Great Value Raspberry Ice while at work during the day...two cups of coffee before I come to work.
Iced Tea sweetened with Splenda and a splash of Lemon Juice (2 in the evenings)
No exercise today due to picking up grand-daughters to spend the three-day weekend with us.
