October Weight Loss Challenge: Day 3 Walking

Welcome to Day 3 of the October Weight Loss Challenge!

Are you a walker?

Do you enjoy walking?

Have you ever used walking as a form of exercise?

Will you walk today? How far and/or how long?

A routine of brisk walking has been proven to have the same effects as more strenuous exercise such as jogging or running. Walking also has many good health and weight loss benefits such as:

  • Lowering 'bad' cholesterol
  • Raising 'good' cholesterol
  • Reduces the risk/or manages type 2 diabetes
  • Manages your weight
  • Helps you to stay fit

Make walking comfortable by maintaining good posture. Keep your head up with your eyes forward, shoulders back and relaxed. Remember to tighten your abs and buttocks as well. If you have a pedometer, use it to track your steps/distance.

Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro, anyone can effectively and safely lose weight by walking.

I walk daily. Averaging 2-3 miles a day when taking my son to school and back :)

I have started walking everyday. I walk my kids to school. I walk to get them too. I really do love walking.

I enjoy walking, I used to walk all the time before my kids came in the world, I walked this morning to take my kids to school and I am going to walk to pick them up this evening.

I do walk!! Have off and on for a long time. I may walk with my sil and kids today. If we do itll be for 30-45 mins

 I have an elliptical in the house.  I love that.   Its raining today no walking for me.

I walk with my family occasionally but I like a BIG calorie burn! I prefer to do my workout DVD's

I love walking....don't have a treadmill, but I would like one.  Maybe for christmas this
