October Weight Loss Challenge: Day 15 Leg Exercises

Welcome to Day 15 of the October Weight Loss Challenge!

Do you work out your legs?

What types of exercises do you do to strengthen and tone your legs?

Have you ever done lunges before?

How many do you think you can do or will try to do?

Here is the lunge work out we will be doing today.

The muscles targeted by doing lunges are:

  • Glute muscles in your hips and butt
  • Hamstrings
  • Quadriceps in your upper legs
  • Calf musles in your lower legs
  • Abdominals and Back muscles to stabilize

Another benefit is calorie burn for weight loss

Do you work out your legs? Yep

What types of exercises do you do to strengthen and tone your legs? Squats, lunges, weighted squats and lunges...oh, and I'm a long distance runner so if that doesn't work my legs I don't know what does! LOL I run at least 3-4x per week between 3-13 miles each run...

Have you ever done lunges before?Quite often

How many do you think you can do or will try to do? Not sure..

I walk.  I'm hesitant about lunges because I have bad knees.

I do weight machines for my legs once a week. I also do squats and lunges. In the zumba class I go to we do a ton of leg moves. One song is just for legs with squats and lunges for the whole song.

 I power walk on the treadmill and use the eliptical machine, so yes, my legs get quite a workout. My legs aren't a problem area for me, so they're aren't my focus.

Honestly, if its not running after one of my 4kids, or one of my 3 I watch during the week, not much else happens now of days. I like to do aerobic steps and running or dancing with NY Wii, though other than once a few Weeks ago, its been awhile.

I am a walker. I also use my elliptical which tones everything. I can do quite a bit of lunges. I will do some today, as many as I can. =)
