We all know it's a great core workout, but it works almost every muscle in the body.  It can be modified to any level, too!  So let's get our plank on!  Time yourself to see where you're starting out, and set a goal for where you'd like to be come Halloween. (motivation to stay out of the candy!)  Reply here with where you're starting out, and where you'd like to be by the end of the month!

You can do any plank you like as long as it works for you!

I do the arm bent and elbows on the floor one. My current length of time is about 35 seconds. I want to get to 40 or more seconds by the end of Oct. Since I have problems with my lower back, that's a modest goal, because I honestly don't know what I can do with concentrated effort.

I timed myself and held the plank for 23 seconds.  I'd like to be able to hold it for a minute.

 Got my plank on today. :)  I need to work on the on the lower one. That one is hard for me.

I just held it for 33 sec arms extended. I'm going to aim for 2 minutes by the end of the month.

Oct 1st: extended arm - 22.85 seconds. I'd like my goal to be between 60-90 secs.

Okay I did some planking today! It wasn't great.  I decided my goal is to actually get into a side plank without falling on my face.  I can't do side planks. :(

Just a side note:  most seem to think the extended arm plank is hardest.  The forearm plank actually gives your core more of a workout than the extended arm plank. Just passing that along--if anyone cares.

October 1- 2 minutes, full extension (longer than I thought I'd be able to do!)

Goal for the month: 3:30- we'll see!
