Our bodies need protein for our muscles, skin, hair and internal organs. Protein travels through our bodies in blood as hormones, red blood cells and enzymes.
Why we need protein:
- Anti bodies that consist of protein are essential in helping our bodies fight/resist diseases
- You need protein daily to keep your body functioning
- Protein is needed to help heal or repair the body from injurires
- Has chains of 22 amino acids, 8 of which are essential to our bodies because we cannot make them
If you remember from a previous challenge, protein should make up 25% of your plate.
