Welcome to Day 29 of the October Weight Loss Challenge!

How much protein do you eat a day?

What types of proteins do you eat?

What are your favorite protein dishes?

Our bodies need protein for our muscles, skin, hair and internal organs. Protein travels through our bodies in blood as hormones, red blood cells and enzymes.

Why we need protein:

  • Anti bodies that consist of protein are essential in helping our bodies fight/resist diseases
  • You need protein daily to keep your body functioning
  • Protein is needed to help heal or repair the body from injurires
  • Has chains of 22 amino acids, 8 of which are essential to our bodies because we cannot make them

If you remember from a previous challenge, protein should make up 25% of your plate.

I eat plenty of protein: usually 2 eggs for breakfast, at least 2 oz. of protein at lunch, and definitely 1/4 to 1/3 of the dinner plate is protein. We eat eggs, beef, pork, poultry, and fish, along with cheese. No legumes here.

 I eat lots of protein. Mostly chicken and hamburg.

I eat a lot of protein. Chicken and Peanut butter are my favorites.

We eat lots of eggs and lots of chicken. I also sneak in a good amount of peanut butter :)

How much protein do you eat a day? I tend to get around 100 grams of protein per day...more if I've done a big weight workout.

What types of proteins do you eat? Chicken, turkey, seafood, eggs, limited pork, limited beef, sometimes we will eat beans and quinoa

What are your favorite protein dishes? Turkey meatloaf, omeletss, grilled proteins

I usually eat dairy (which has protein),  and one protein meal a day-  usually chicken.
