Shoot my hubs even laughs at me every time he catches me working out. I need help ladies. I have been trying the carmen electra workout but sense he found out I have it, he wants me to "dance" for him. Not gonna happen. So I really need some kind of workout help. I don't know what to do. I need to lose 116 lbs. This weight is effecting my health in more ways than 1. Is their anyone willing to help me. I don't know what to do :(

Exercising and eat healthy is the way to loss weight. Take a look at your diet and see what you can change. Add more fruits and veggies. Start counting calories I would talk to my husband as well. Him laughing at me would put me down . Good luck

Since you're just beginning I will talk with my doctor first.

I have been actively working out for over a yr. I eat mostly frozen fruits and veggies. Lean meat and rarely any processed foods. The dr. Says it is cause of my stress and depression and all I have been going through is the reason I am not losing weight. I have talked to the hubs but she says he don't mean it in a bad way, I was trying to motivate you to work harder but shoot, wouldn't you be upset if your spouse comes in and the first thing he says is, I was wondering why the earth was shaking :(

At walmart last night I was looking at weightloss stuff and he goes here this is just your size, any bigger would be too heavy.... Hands me a foam stress ball. It took all I could not to pic up the 8 lb. work out ball next to me and hit him in the  head with it. I was so mad yet it felt liek yet anouther jab at me being fat. Then I caught him looking up porn with the description of thin blondes with big ..... Yeah, anouther slap to my face :(

Start small, start by changing one thing at a time.  Maybe start drinking all of your water one week, then add fresh fruit the next week, then add fresh veggies the next week, then work on portion sizes.  One step at a time, you can do it!

Oh honey...

April is right. The very first place to start is with your diet. Take a close look at what you eat, when you eat and how much you eat. Do you drink your calories? Are you eating a lot of processed foods? That is the best place to start.

Counting calories is an effective and efficient way to lose weight. It is also very easy to do if you use a free website such as: www. myfitnesspal.com, www.sparkpeople.com and www.livestrong.com. The first step is knowing your BMR or Basal Metabolic Rate. This is the number of calories your body needs to function and be inactive-think digestion, blood flow and organ functions. Once you add activity of any kind you have to consume more in order to avoid starvation mode. Since you gave me all the information I needed in the OP, I have already done it for you.

BMR: 1956 ( this is the least amount of calories your body presently needs to function and be inactive)

Maintenance while working out 1-3 days per week: 1956*1.375=2689

To lose 1 lb per week: 2689-500=2189

Your ideal calorie range if you workout 1-3 days per week is 1956-2189 calories per day to lose 1 lb per week.

Maintenance while working out 3-5 days per week: 1956*1.55=3031

To lose 1 lb per week: 3031-500=2531

Your ideal calorie range if you workout 3-5 days per week is 1956-2531 calories per day to lose 1 lb per week.

Diet: Concentrate on the following

Lean proteins: chicken, turkey, seafood, limited beef and pork, eggs, hummus

Whole grains ( if you choose to consume them): breads, pastas, brown rice, lentils, barley, couscous, quinoa, beans( the last 2 can also be counted as proteins)

Produce: fresh and frozen..avoid canned if possible

Dairy( if you choose to consume them): I use low fat and full fat

Healthy fats: butter, ghee, coconut oil, olive oil, avocadoes, nuts, nut butters

Water- try to drink 1/2 your weight in water...256/2=128 oz per day is what you should aim for essentially

Workouts-

Do what you can do for right now! Walking, DVDs, go to a gym..any of those are great options. There are DVDs available that are dance, Yoga, weights, kettlebells, or extreme cardio. Find what you enjoy and it will be easier to stick with it.

Support- You need to sit down and have a heart to heart with your husband. He needs to understand how hurtful his "playful" comments are. They are unacceptable. Period. You need a support system. We will support you, cheer you on, and will listen when you vent, but having support at home helps immensely.

You need to explain to him why you need to lose weight and become healthier. It is for your health as well as for you family's health. This will only benefit your whole family and he needs to understand that concept.

Please let me know if I can help you. I've gone on my own journey, and I am now getting my Personal Trainer Certifications.

Love yourself and believe in yourself! I believe you can do this!!

if you're battling depression, that's the first thing you need to get treated.  i battled depression and the stress of that was killing everything inside me!  so go see a professional and get treated for your depression.

then i would follow what the pp's suggested - modifying what you eat, tracking your calories and exercising.. it's the only way to lose weight properly.  come here if you have any questions.

IGNORE THE REMARKS YOUR HUSBAND MAKES.  sit down wiith him and tell him how you feel when he says those things to you.  do this for YOU!  you CAN do this!!

Feel free to message me because I've been there. For a long time I wouldn't work out in front of anyone because I was scared I'd be laughed at. You just have to work through it, know that what you are doing is for YOU. Keep working out because it's what you need and want. Ignore your husband, if he wants you to dance for him just tell him "thanks for thinking I'm sexy, but I'm not ready for that yet. I'll let you know when I am" and move on.
