New Year Weight Loss Challenge Day 8: Row Row Row Your Boat!

Welcome to Day 8 of the New Year Weight Loss Challenge!

One of The Most Important Exercises For Women is...........ROWING!
Yes, I said rowing, as in row, row, row, your boat.

The amount of time women spend slouching forward while sitting in front of a computer, driving and even texting on the phone, over time will effect your posture. Add in the additional frontal weight of breasts, big or small, and women will tend to hunch over.

One way to combat this slouching effect is by rowing. Rowing will not only improve your posture, it provides a good cardio workout, it will help tighten your tummy, give you toned arms, a sleek back, perkier breasts and a 'longer' torso.

Whether you are doing dumbbell rows or cable rows, the rowing motion occurs when you pull some form of resistance in toward your chest/upper abdomen on a horizontal plane by drawing together your shoulder blades. Rowing strengthens the rhomboid muscles, and stronger rhomboid muscles help roll your shoulders back, open your torso,  lengthen the line that runs down the center of your abs and make you look taller!

So ladies, if you want to bring Sexy Back, start ROWING!

Do you slouch or hunch forward?
Do you incorporate rowing into your workout routine?
If not, are you willing to give it a try?

Haven't tried it.  Probably won't as I don't have access to a machine.

I do not do rowing.  My shoulders cause me a lot of pain so I have to be careful of what I do.

Do you slouch or hunch forward? I am sure that I do!

Do you incorporate rowing into your workout routine? Yes, some of my exercise videos, like The Firm (my favorites) use dumbell rows

If not, are you willing to give it a try? If I ever manage to get back to the gym, I might add in trying the rowing machine!
