Welcome to Day 11 of the New Year Weight Loss Challenge!

One way to watch what you eat is by making informed food choices.

Today we are going to focus on nutrition labels. Before you eat anything packaged today, READ the label.

Pay close attention to serving sizes, percentage of calories from fat, total fat, carbs and sodium. Then read the ingredients list to see what else is added.

Do you ever pay attention to the nutritional facts on packaged food?
Do you make food choices based on what the label says?
Were you surprised by some of the label content you read today? If so, what surprised you the most?

Yep, I read every label at the store. In fact, I try to stick to foods that don't need labels, like fresh fruits and vegetables. If something has too many calories for what it is, I don't even bother.

i read for the sodium content.  and i'm surprised by how much sodium is in some food.  everyone is worried about fat content when they should be more concerned about the sodium.  you're not supposed to have a lot of sodium.

Oh its scary. Read the ingredeance too. Sugar is in almost EVERYTHING.

I never really paid attention to them before but what I mainly look at is the ingredient list over anything else, that is usually what surprises me most. The only thing I really look it on the label is the suggested serving size. I am definently going to watch what I eat more. I punched in everything I ate yesterday and learned that if I kept eating the way that was then I would gain about more lbs.
