So I just got back from the gym. I did 25 minutes on the elliptical, after 25 minutes i was sweating like a little pig and my heart rate was 180.. i know that is really high and I was wondering what could cause it to do that?!!!

180 During or after? My hr gets to 180 sometimes during workouts.

It depends on what your resting HR is...mine gets up into the 180s at time, but that is if I am doing sprints and just killing myself.

im not sure what my resting heart rate is, but i know its high normal (from what my old doctor said) I just wanted to make sure that this was typical.

Mine gets into the 180s during crossfit workouts. Just depends on a lot of things. That's ok for me, just means I'm kicking my butt. But for some people that's too high.

The younger you are, the higher your heart rate will be too. But like these other ladies said, even women the same age will have different heart rates. Mine stays around 160 during most of my workout then gets to around 180 when I'm really going hard.
