I've only lost 4.6 lbs since the first of January (so 6 weeks) and I keep seeing all these posts saying that that is a small amount.  What am I doing wrong???

Hugs.
Are you counting calories?
Do you know your bmr?
What types of food are you eating?
How's your water intake?
What are you doing for exercise?

Hugs.  Thanks  I'm working on weaning my toddler and hoping that helps
Are you counting calories?  No, I'm doing WW
Do you know your bmr?  yes but I can't eat that much.  I'll puke
What types of food are you eating?  Lots of protein, not a lot of carbs, cut out processed foods and sugars for the most part
How's your water intake?  Needs to be better
What are you doing for exercise?  varies, 30 day shred or cardio/strength training off youtube 3-5 days a week

Who says 4.6 lbs in 6 weeks is a small amount?  That's close to a lb per week.  :)

I agree, that's not bad loss!  But I would highly advise you to eat at least your BMR, especially if you're still breastfeeding.  Eating too little will actually slow your metabolism.

Are you getting enough sleep?  Lack of sleep can greatly affect your weight.

Don't OD on the protein, either.  A healthy balance of carbs, healthy fats and proteins is very important.  Too much protein is really hard on the kidneys and liver.

I agree. You need to eat at least your BMR, especially nursing. Add in some fresh fruits and veggies and nuts, hummus and avocados to increase your calorie intake.
