I keep seeing people ask for someone to calculate their BMR (I have asked too).  I found this link so thought I would put in up here..

http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ this is to calculate your BMI

Then use this to calculate your BMR

You do not have to know your BMI to know your BMR. BMI is not reliable at all.

BMR on the other hand, is very vaulable to know..when you click on the top link, all you have to do is click on BMR and it will take you straight there. One key is to use the Harris Benedict Formula to complete the process.. you need to account for exercise, not just know your BMR.

There is also a formula that can be used, but many people prefer the link as it does not take a ton of math like the formula.

I said it wrong that is exactly what the link does... it calculates your BMR and then the second link is the Harris benedict formula :)

That's the site we use to calculate it.  Be sure to subtract 500 calories from your maintenance BMR (after you do the HB equation) to get your upper limit while losing weight (unless that number is below your BMR, in which case, eat your BMR).

Yes.  You need to add 500 calories to your BMR, then do the math.  Glad you asked this!!  =)
