My sister was told to lose weight she should try to eat healthy 5 days a week and 2 days drink water...no food. So Mondays and Thursdays would be 'water' days.

I have heard of diets like that. I don't feel that starvation is ever healthy though :/

Outside of the Biblical purpose of fasting I will not starve myself ever again thanks to this group!

I would stay away from diets like that. Your body needs food to function. If you starve it, it will burn the muscles long before it starts at the fat. Not good. Besides, for me, no food equals a very grouchy momma lol.

Why not just eat healthy 7 days a week instead of putting the body into starvation mode?

I think that was something that was discussed not long ago in here.

I have no desire whatsoevver to starve at all- let alone for 2 days a week!  I like food too much for that ;)

I could never do that. If you eat healthily 7 days a week you will lose weight just the same. :)

Have not heard of that. Cannot imagine it being very pleasant.  However, research shows that severe calorie restriction leads to longevity and lab animals in such research fed just enough to keep up energy to thrive live much longer than their traditionally fed counterparts who have access to the same food 24/7.
