Go to a running store and be fitted. It is best if you do not just grab a pair and run in them. Running shoes are not all the same. Some people over pronate, some under pronate and some people are neutral runners. At a running store, they will analyze how you stand, walk, and run and then explain how you run before showing you shoes and having you try them on. A good pair of running shoes that are fitted to you will save you from injury. I spend between $100-150 per pair, although I got lucky and my fave store just did a 20% promotion and I got a pair for under $100 for the first time in years. LOL
I've been running in Brooks Ghosts for years.. I just changed to Brooks PureFlow2 which are minimal shoes.
