Please clear up my confusion

Hello, I want to lose about 5 pounds and tone up a bit. I started walking about 3-5 miles a day and lifting light weights to tone my arms. I keep track of my food intake on my fitness pal.com. Now I don't know how accurate it is regarding how many calories I've burned by exercising etc.. but I have plugged in my food intake for today and with all my meals and exercise I have about 700+ calorie left and about 21grams of fat left. I have so many calories left because I walked today. My question is: Should I eat almost all my calories (like have a light snack after dinner if I am hungry - obviously it won't be 700 calories) or not eat anything. My other question is: Is it better to have more calories left over and go over here and there on sugars (like 3 or 4 grams?) or vice versa? Does this make any sense??
