Spring Exercise Challenge Day 7: Love Your Legs

Welcome to day 7 of the Spring Exercise Challenge!

Are your legs warm weather ready?
Shorts season is almost upon us, let's get your legs toned and ready!

Firm, toned and shapely  legs are the envy of most women. Luckily your legs are fat burning machines, so these results can be acheived!
Your legs contain some of the biggest muscle complexes in the body. When you do the right leg workouts your body will burn a lot of calories and increase your lean muscle mass.
Doing a lower body (leg workout) twice a week is recommended.

A great beginner workout would consist of the following exercises:

  • Lunge jumps
  • Sprinting
  • Deep squats (bodyweight only)
  • Hip extensions
  • Calf raises
  • Wall sits

A great intermediate to advanced workout would consist of:

  • Deadlifts
  • Weighted step ups
  • Barbell lunges
  • Intense plyo
  • Barbell squats
  • Sprinting

For today's challenge, customize a leg workout that suits your fitness level and needs.

I hate lunge jumps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL, I really, really hate them. They're effective, but they HURT!

Unfortunately I got to much wiggle in my upper thighs so I never feel quite ready for shorty shorts season. But I am going to check out some videos of the pros doing some of these exercises and then incorporate them for the day. Im already a calf raiser lunger sprinter but I need more deepth of exercise so thanks for the tips

I like to walk or jog....I'm at a lower level of fitness again since I just had the baby 3 weeks ago.....cant wait till my 6 week check-up to get the all clear to do more. (have alot of hip/pelvis pain still so waiting on it to go away to do more)  Shorts season is too close to me...lol.....doubt I'll fit in my shorts when it appears...ugh.
