How do you know you burned 400 calories on the elliptical?  Are you wearing a heartrate monitor?

One hour at the gym. Elliptical and arc trainer. I always go until I burn 300 calories which takes an hour lol.

It tells me on the machine itself.. It's usually 425 when I stop but for personal purposes I round down a bit to 400.. Why you ask? :)

8 mile run...man was it hard! I forgot how hard it is to run when it's warm and sunny! I need to start bringing water again :/
