Bikini Bootcamp Challenge Day 9:The Most Important Meal of the Day

Welcome to day 9 of the Bikini Bootcamp Challenge!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
A healthy breakfast is the fuel you need to start your day.
After sleeping all night and going without food, your energy reserves are low and need to be replenished.

By eating breakfast, your blood sugar rises and your metabolism is recharged. Do not fall into the trap of saving calories by skipping breakfast.

Eating a healthy breakfast daily provides:

  • Provides necessary nutrients to kick start the day

  • Regular breakfast promotes healthier body weight.

  • Daily breakfast regulates appetite, reduces snack cravings

  • Reduces chances of overeating during the day

  • Helps stabilize hormones and blood sugar levels

  • Reduces fatigue and sleepy feeling mid-morning

  • Spurt in energy levels, positive attitude.

  • Improves concentration, boosts brain power

  • Helps in weight maintenance efforts

  • Increases alertness

  • Improves overall health and well-being


The three most important things to think about when planning a healthy breakfast are:

  • Whole grains: They give you more vitamens, minerals, fiber and antioxidents. Fiber helps you to stay full throughout the morning
  • Lean protein: Engergizes and fuels your body. The best way to get lean protein is from eggs and nut butters.
  • Fruit: Eat fruit in place of drinking fruit juice. You will be getting fiber and nutrients.

I eat breakfast everyday. If I am on my way out the door, I will have a special k protein shake. If I am at home, boiled eggs with mustard and spice mixed in the yolk, cereal when I crave it, or a real smoothie.

I eat breakfast every day. Sometimes I have eggwhites, with whole grain toast, or sometimes just cereal with almond milk. Breakfast varies.

I try to eat breakfast everyday, but slack since having my daughter, I love cereal, but the milk bothers her belly (I nurse). So I might have crackers or a poptart.

Do you have any healthy breakfast options to share? if i am working out in the morning, i eat a cheese stick for protein. i use pan spray instead of oil, to make an egg.

Mostly, i will have fruit and yogurt.. 2 cups of coffee and of course my multi vitamin

No breakfast during the week. I tend to forget to eat anything until around 2 or 230 in the afternoon and by then I'm starving. I really need to work on this.

I do try and eat brkfast daily, i do hardboiled eggs and pb toast usually

I usually eat breakfast, although I didn't today.  I will usually eat a breakfast bowl that has tons of bad, yummy stuff in it.  I just had coffee today though and I made my green smoothie last night for when I get hungry.
