I stop eating at 7pm but can have water after that...nothing else...
You should ideally stop around 6 or 3-4 hours before you go to bed. The earlier you stop the better.
Ideally, you want to eat before 8:00 p.m. According to Ayurvedic principles it is best to eat your largest meal in the afternoon and a smaller meal at dinner time. After 10:00 p.m. the body is working on burning off toxins and digesting the food from the day. If you eat later than 8:00 p.m. you run the risk of the food building up more toxins and as a result the next day you wake up tired. Overall, you need to find what work best for you and your body. Just start listening, you'll know what is best.
I'll eat anytime, but it's generally best to stop within 2 hours of when you go to bed. If I'm really hungry before going to bed, though, I'll have a small snack. Generally something easy on the digestive tract.
