Ladies 160 lbs and over (or former ladies) ? Advice please? EDIT

How did you manage to get started? I currently weigh 167.4 as of today and I am completely out of shape. How did you manage to do sit ups and push ups and all the stuff that requires strength without gasping for breath and feeling like your heart is galloping out of your chest?

Did you start clean eating and exercising at the same time? I just need some tips/pointers to get started? Also some before and after pics wouldn't hurt :P Thanks ladies :D

EDIT: I meant to ask how to start off in the gym. What equipment did you start using 1st? Why? What's more important cardio or strength?

It is smaller but still jiggly. (BUT not like loose skin) I started running and found an ab app that I do so I think that has been helpful!

Honestly? I've always been strong. I may have a lot of fat to lose, but being able to do push ups and sit ups and stuff was never a problem. I couldn't do a whole lot in a row, but I pushed myself. I started at 242, and the last time I weighed myself I was 223. I also keep pushing myself harder every time I go to the gym.

I was 230 did Turbo Jam, ChaLEAN Extreme, and Insanity. I now weigh 190 and I can push ups and sit-ups with out gasping for air. You build up to it.

I think there is confusion (in general not you) that skinny means you are fit. Skinny does not = fit.

My husband is 6'1 and 175 pounds of muscle. Think skinny butt ( he wear a 34 and that is too big!) I can run longer than he can any day. @ 190! and that is overweight for my height! Because I started small and have worked up. I think it is the same concept.

Do some. Do more the next time even if it is just 1 more!
