I like to play around with ingredients and some turn out horribly, some awesome.
Living a low carb lifestyle makes it a little difficult to have a lot of "yummy" stuff in them and kind of limits me but I'm learning how to find loop holes, etc.
This morning, I think I've found the BEST breakfast smoothie I've ever made and I think it has most of the food groups, essentially. I even make my own milk and it only has 3g of carbs per serving vs. one cup of skim milk that I think has upward of 18-20g (?)
I call it an Orange Dreamsicle! It's so orangey and creamy! It's only 6g of carbs for a huge glass, too!
1. 1 cup of cold water
2. One packet of Crystal Lite Morning Orange (whatever it's called)
3. 1 cup of spinach
4. 1 scoop of Jullian Michael's vanilla whey protein
5. 1/4 cup plain greek yogurt
6. 2tbsp flaxseed mill
I know a lot of people don't agree with Crystal Lite and low carb but it has really worked for me. I'm still trying to get the hang of things. It's definitely a huge change that I'm still learning how to master.
