Has anyone ever tried OA? Does it work? Sometimes I feel like I need something to help me get my over eating and binges under control. Any other suggestions?

Thank you!

No experience with it here. But here is a bump.

I've been to one group meeting and got the book. (I had to do a self help group while I was in grad school and thought hey it might help with my food issues) I honestly realized that I wasn't near the realm of overeating as the people in the group. It puts things in perspective for me... They follow the 12 step method.  Never hurts going to an open group and hearing the stories.. And getting support.

I've never had any experience with OA, but I agree with JerseyAirGurl above ^

It couldn't hurt to attend a meeting and get support, motivation, perspective...

Good luck!

I say give it a go and see what you think.  There's certainly no harm, and you may learn a thing or two from even one meeting.

Good luck, mama!

You could try a meeting.  Just to eliminated the thought  your not, and if you need it you already took the first step.

Thanks everyone for the support. I think maybe I''ll give it a try. It can't hurt and like Jerseygurl said above, it might put things in perspective. Or I might learn something like what musicpisces said. So I'll try and see. THanks everyone for the advice :-)
