What does yor typical grocery list look like when you are hopping for your family?  Do you just absolutely do NOT buy ANYTHING that will tempt you?  Bu then what do you pack forour kid's shool lunches and snacks??

What's your weekly food menu like?  I know I need to eat healthy BUT I don't know what kinds of things to eat for each meal or snack a day!!

This is what  I had on my list today:

bananas to make banana chips for granddaughter's snacks

fresh tomatoes incl. grape tomatoes

cucumbers

cauliflower

carrots

peppers (colored and green)

red onions

10 lb. bag white potatoes

3 huge bunches of salad greens

broccoli

2 lb. butter

6 dozen eggs

sour cream

cheddar, monterey jack, mozzarella, provolone cheese

smoked sausage x 2

coconut oil

1 can diced tomatoes

4 cans black olives

1 jar pickled banana peppers

1 jar dill pickles

Vidalia onion salad dressing (couldn't find, will have to make from scratch)

On the menu for next week:

pulled pork salad

chicken gumbo

provolone chicken, garden salad, sauteed green beans

taco salad

grilled garden burgers, potato & pepper packets, garden salad

potato/pepper/sausage skillet, garden salad

pizza (on Saturday night...it's our tradition and I will have a pizza salad)

Breakfasts will be veggie omelets, homemade grain-free pancakes with fruit, dairy free smoothies (blueberry or cherry), hard boiled eggs, grain-free zucchini muffins or grain-free chunky monkey muffins

Lunches are dinner leftovers, tuna patties with side salads, or big ass chef salads.  I've also got ingredients to make homemade veggie beef or chicken stew with grain-free butter biscuits.

Typical foods we keep in the house are

  • yogurt (brown cow), greek yogurt
  • milk (organic whole w/ DHA)
  • eggs (organic)
  • wheat bread
  • Amy's frozen dinners
  • whole wheat pasta + pasta sauce
  • pickles (for snacking)
  • veggies (broccoli, carrots....)
  • fruits (strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes)
  • balsalmic vinagarette
  • lettuce/kale
  • cottage cheese
  • salsa
  • olives, canned corn
  • organic soups
  • whole wheat crackers

I pretty much try to only shop the perimeter of the grocery store so we spend most of our time in the produce section, seafood section, breads, and dairy section. I buy the vegetarian "meats" located in the produce section and we often eat those for dinner. I try to find the vegan meats without soy. We limit our consumption of dairy because we believe in eating/drinking whole milk, whole cheese, ect..

As for school lunches I use whatever is in the fridge to make dd's lunch. I don't buy lunchables or juice boxes or anything like that.
