How do you stop yourself from snacking?

My weakness is snacking once the kids are in bed. I did really good today... but then I started snacking..

How do you prevent this? I wasn't even hungry... just bored I guess.. : /

I don't! I just make sure I have amazing snacks on hand!

Almonds

Greek yogurt with pb and honey

a frozen banana with peanut butter

carrot sticks with hummus

I have learned not to ignore my body's hunger signals. (I had been doing that for too long which lead to over eating in the end.) If you crave a midnight snack, just make those calories count!!

this!

also, sometimes we snack just because we're bored (i'm guilty!).  so before taking out a snack, i drink some water and wait a few minutes by distracting myself to see if i'm actually hungry and need snacks or if i was just bored.

Water.  I make sure to chug down at last 8 oz of water. I usually get full  and don't want anything else.  If its late have something that is protein,  I sip skim milk, or soy milk.

I think about adding it to my food diary and if it's worth the calories. If you do at least try to make it fruit or veggies. Sometimes moving or coming up with cleaning is enough to keep me busy.

I don't. If I'm hungry, it means I haven't eaten enough. Usually, if it's late at night, I'll have a big cup of hot tea and a banana. It helps me sleep and keeps me full. If I'm bored, I find something else to do or have tea. For me, tea solves all issues...LOL.

Drink a big glass of water. It fills you up. Also, I try not to hang around the kitchen.

Tea is a good idea. No calories, warm and filling and flavorful. Good advice:)

That's exactly why I drink it pretty much all day long.
