Do you perform better....

With or without music? 

I used to always think I would run better having the music to spur me on... But, after running my best time ever - with out music, I decided to "test" my theory.  So, today I did another one of my "typical" routes.  It is a 2.2 mile loop (with lots of hills), and the best I have run it has been 21 minutes - today I did it with out music, and did it in 19 minute even with a new pair of running shoes.

Any one else find this is the case as well?

I don't run but I do workout dvds and I feel it is better with my music draining out the sound of the annoying trainer's voice.

I do zumba, belly dance or pilates mostly and all 3 use music so...


I'm no runner ;)

You know it just really depends on how I feel, but when I have consistent good music I keep pushing.... I noticed that I push harder while listening to hip hop, lol.

I use a treadmill so I find if I don't use the music I have a hard time staying on the thing! LOL
