Should I get walkers or runners??

My shoes are officially shot. They are almost three years old and have taken me countless miles.
Just recently my feet have started to hurt during longer walks and or higher impactimpact activity. When I originally bought them I was 215lbs..so um yeah...I have more than worn them out.
My weight loss buddy has been kindly reminding me to replace them recently. On our long walk yesterday she finally said I must replace them.

I do a lot of walking and elliptical training..and some running(not a lot).

So my question. Should I get walkers or runners?

I agree, walkers if you mainly walk. You could always go to a running store and get their opinion but be warned, it's an investment to go in there and get shoes! LOL ( I speak from experience :))

Yeah...I'm not ready to 'invest' yet Lol. I'm on a tight budget.
