Does anyone know of any other apps besides C25K that will track running/walking without having to enable my GPS? I just don't feel comfortable with having my GPS on *yea I know it's weird lol*

None. It's how it can tell where you are or how far you have gone.

Maybe a pedometer would be better? Can't it still track calories?

A pedometer counts steps.

A heart rate monitor could calculate a caloric burn.

I've used Runtastic, the free version, and had it sync with My Fitness Pal. It got annoying having to always have my phone in a pocket, but it worked.

I just installed this. Why did you stop using it? How does it sync to MFP?

I would like to know if there are any walking/running apps that do not require me carrying my phone.  I am scared to death I am going to drop and break the thing like my last one....

I use C25K. You run specific amounts of time. Like 5 min warm up walk; 90 second run; 1 min walk; 3 min run; 3 min walk... etc...
