It seems like a no brainer but it really takes effort.
I have been consciously not buying unhealthy foods for about 2 months but have been working on it for over a year. It started when DH and i stopped buying pop, not because of our health, but because we were tired of taking cans back to the store for deposit.
It's a budgeting issue for me too. I don't want to spend $3 on a bag of chips...that would cost me a bag of apples. The chips will last 2 days, an extra 8 pieces of fruit will last all week.
