Slim Down for Summer Challenge Day 3: A Fit Body Starts in the Kitchen!

Welcome to Day 3 of the Slimdown for Summer Challenge!

Make sure you post below after you have completed the daily exercises.

Here are today's exercises:

55 High Knees

25 Lunges -each leg

50 Skaters

25 Frog Squats

25 Russian Twists

35 Crunches

Plank - 65 seconds

Here is today's clean recipe:

Cranberry Oatmeal

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp dried cranberries or raisins
  • ¼ cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp flaxseed
  • 1 cup low fat milk (almond or coconut milk if desired)

Directions:

  • Bring water to a boil in saucepan. Add oats. Lower heat and stir until water is absorbed, about 5 minutes.
  • Add in cinnamon, cranberries, walnuts and flaxseed and mix

Blah, I can't eat oatmeal. Something about the texture... But the exersizes look great, and I will do them after I eat breakfast (eggs and toast).

Don't do oatmeal but I did eat the sausage burrito from the the first day....yumm. I love the Russian twist!

 Great work out..... only thing I modify was the frog squats. I could only do 15...... :/

I'm new to this exercising, but how long do you feel the pain in your muscles? Does your body eventually get use to it or as long as you are exercising you will feel it?

Done! I'm getting so much better at planks!

I love oatmeal! I had some this morning. I sprinked cinnamon and brown sugar on it.

I eat a lot of fruits and veggies, I drink a lot of water. I've noticed a huge difference. My stomach is so much flatter.

 This excercises are kicking my butt.  I will stick with them though.  I need to lose some weight and tighten up my stomach.

We buy oats by the 50# bag. LOL! We use oats and eat crockpot oatmeal (http://spoonsandfires.blogspot.com/2013/05/easy-crockpot-oatmeal.html) a lot.

We have found that whole foods are the best for weight loss. If it's processed, avoid it.
