Welcome to Day 11 of the Slimdown for Summer Challenge!

Make sure you post below after you have completed the daily exercises.

Here are today's exercises:

60 High Knees

30 Lunges - each leg

55 Skaters

30 Frog Squats

50 Russian Twists

45 Crunches

Plank - 70 seconds

Here is today's clean recipe:

Multi Bean Chili

  • 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 cups canned black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup canned red beans, rinsed and drained
  • ¼ cup diced chilies (optional)
  • 1 cup corn kernels
  • 1 cup uncooked lentils, sorted and rinsed
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 5 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • Cayenne pepper, to taste

  • Put olive oil in large pot and bring to medium heat.
  • Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until onion is translucent but not brown, about 5 minutes.
  • Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer at least 30 minutes covered.
  • Check for seasoning and add more chili powder or cayenne pepper to taste.

How often do you make pot or crock pot recipes?

Do you tend to eat 'lighter' foods in the summer?

Who will be swimsuit ready this summer?

I usually make a crockpot recipe once a month. My diet doesn't really change through the year. I don't think I'll be anywhere near swimsuit ready. :/ off to exercise!

Thank you for the recipe - it sounds delicious.  I don't have a crock pot, but I make chili, soups and stews weekly.  Overall we do eat lighter in the Summer - fresh fruit and veggies are readily available and less expensive, and have more salads for a main course.

All done.... I love crackpot meals. Throw everything in and sit back or catch up on family time. I change the way I eat in the summer. Fresh veggies from the garden. I'm hoping to be swim suit ready.

We make crockpot meals often. Way more in the winter though. We eat more salads in the summer.

We did everything but the skater thing in my workout class this morning.  I'll have to do those later.

Trying to kill me with those frog squats! I make a crock pot meal at least once a momth if not more. Love my crock pot just hate cleaning it! Lol I eat a ton of fruit and salads in the summer. Don't like to turn on the oven. We cook out alot too. As of right now don't feel like ill be swim suit ready, bht as soon as I kick this cold..been going on since sunday! Im kicking it up a knotch and making sure to get in these workouts plus tread mill, or long walks outside and abs!

We definitely use the grill more than the crock pot during the summer, and we do eat lighter foods in warmer weather. More farmers markets open means more/cheaper fruits and veggies during the summer.
I'm not sure about being bathing suit ready...I've been working out regularly, but eating a lot more and maintaining my current weight. Hopefully I'll find the motivation to cut back my calories and shed these last stubborn pounds!
Off to do the workout.

Our favorite recipe for the crockpot has to be 1 bag of already prepared meatballs ($3.50 at walmart) throw in a jar of grape jelly and 1 bottle of sweet baby rays bbq sauce for an extra kick I add 1 Serrano pepper deveined and chopped. Cook on low for 4 hours. Serve with white rice. Not the healthiest but, most inexpensive meal and kids love it. Will serve 8-10 ppl and all for about $8.
Im hoping to be swum suit ready and I eat very light in the summer. ;)
