Summer Weight Loss Challenge Day 25: Upper Body Fitness

Welcome to day 25 of the Summer Weight Loss Challenge!

You can lengthen and lean your body with a good upper body workout.

A good upper body workout will effectively work out your arms, chest and back. You can use free weights and machines at the gym or you can workout at home using household items and even your own body weight and still get an effective upper body workout.

Begin by warming up with 5 to 10 minutes of light cardio to get your muscles ready to train. Doing an upper body workout 3x per week is recommended with a day rest in between workouts to give your muscles an opportunity to rest. During 'off' days, train the opposite muscle groups ie lower body workout.

Here is a good upper body workout you can do home or at the gym.

I've been slacking on upper body workouts. I was doing planks and pushups, but I hurt my wrist. I need to do some upper body toning.

Yes, I work on my upper body. It's my arms I was hating when I started working on my fitness, lol

I do planks, push ups and weights

I do it 4x a week

I was doing some pushups and using some weights for my arms but have been slacking lately and need to get back into it

I don't have an upper body workout. My only exercise these days is walking. Once I get that going on a consistent basis I will add additional workouts.

I try to lift light weights every other day. I do squats at the same time.

The main thing I do is push-ups, my odd goal is one handed push-ups. It's a long and slow road, but it's a goal.

I aim for a little each day. I do planks, push ups, and have started to do some weightlifting. I am getting ready for my sisters wedding next August, so I'm trying to work it all!
