Just throw it in the pot.

A couple of weeks ago I had extra celery, onions, carrots, and tomatoes. I decided to dice the onions, celery, and carrots, and saute them in a pan. I then put the fresh tomatoes through the food processor and added them to the pan and let everything cook down. I added some seasonings and serve it with Cheddar. It turned out so good this weekend I bought the stuff to make a big pot of it.

Have you never made anything using just which you have extra in your pantry and refrig?

I hate wasting food.  I utilize extra/leftovers as much as possible and results are good 99% of the time.

See, I'm the same way. I hate wasting food.

I do that a lot, especially in the summer when I have sutff from the garden. I think I do some of my best cooking when I just wing it and go with what I have handy.

Stir fry! Anytime I have a bunch of odds and ends of some vegetables and meat, they go in a huge skillet with some soy sauce.

Not like that, but some interesting stuff has come out of our kitchen. I'm looking for new recipes because we've gotten into a food rut.

That is awesome, my husband loves to throw everything into the fried rice.  It's a surprise every time.
