I keep hearing that the WII Fit is not all that great for a workout. Yet ACTIVE and even Jullian Michaels have workouts for the WII. Has anyone tried any of these products and can give a honest evaluation. Thanks
I have the Wii fit and honestly, it's not a real big challenge to me, but my kids love it. I also have the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels and it kicked my buns.. Lost about 27 lbs off of that along with eating healthier.. I have yet to get the Jillian Michaels Wii game, but I'm defenatley looking forward to it!

I cannot compare one product to another but I do have the ea sportsactive and it is pretty awesome. I have lost 4 lbs and 4 inches in 30 days. I am on my second 30 day challenge now. It is a challenge. I am confident that I am still losing. There are things (such as sports games) that my kids can play. They tried the challenge but it is just over their heads right now. And their legs aren't big enough for the leg strap.
I highly recommend Sportsactive.
i have the wii fit and the jillian michaels fitness ultimatum game for it. as far as the fit goes, the activities that you choose really dictate how effective it will be. the balance games are REALLY a joke and waste of time if you're seriously looking to loss weight/get in shape, but the aerobics and strength exercises can really kick some butt. it can be a pain at first because you have to start at the easiest levels to unlock the more challenging ones, but the longer length runs (6 or 10 minute), free run (10, 20 or 30 min), super hula hoop (at the highest level, ouch!) and higher levels of step and rhythm boxing can really get you to work up a good sweat if you put in the effort to use it as a workout and not as just a fun downtime game. the strength exercises can be killer, especially if you do higher reps, and i use the yoga as my "5 minute pre- and post-workout stretches".
the jillian michaels game in my opinion isn't worth the money. i love the concepts of the exercises, but using the balance board is useless if you really want a good workout (there's an option to do it without the board), and most of the challenges i've found to be extremely difficult/impossible to get the remote to correctly function for them. certain exercises i can be working like a maniac and i can't get the game to acknowledge my movement. i looked at reviews *after* i had used it and learned that it's a common issue amongst most owners of that game. on a plus note, i love that you can choose a circuit of exercises and the duration of each one so that you don't get bored doing the same thing for 10 minutes straight. it also gives you a calorie count (which i've found to be off for the most part, but at least that's a feature that the wii fit game doesn't offer), it's got some good music to work out to(another missing feature from the wii fit game), and i think that some of the workouts offered are way more intense. unfortunately if the game doesn't work properly, then it's all for naught and not worth spending the money. i don't have the EAactive, but i hear that the "my fitness coach" for wii (i don't think it's board compatible but that doesn't seem to bother most people) is an excellent workout as well.
all in all, if you use the wii fit as a workout tool it can definitely be worth it. if you think about it, anything to get someone off the couch and on their feet is a step in the right direction regardless! i hope the information helped, and sorry i babbled on!!!
I actually lost 10lbs from using the wii fit. I have the Jillian Micheals game and it sucks. I also have the EA sports active and I love it.
Dont waste your money on the Jillian Micheals game....its not worth it.

So the 30 Day Shred was better? I really liked that one.

I havent tried the 30 day shred yet. I just think the game has a bunch of glitches to it. Like there is this part where you have to bend down to pick up grenade and throw it. Well you have to bend down like 20 times to pick the dang thing up and by the time you get it, it has already exploded. Parts of it werent too bad but I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Im thinking about going to gamestop or somewhere to see if they wanna buy it.
We just bought the Wii Fit last month. I love my kids love it. I have personally lost almost 20lbs using it. My daughter and son have lost about 10lbs each. They are not heavy but they were working on it. My husbands and I are very large and I don't want them to get that way. So I encourage them by beating their scores (LOL). I want to get EA Sports Active. I am just curious though, is it as fun and addicting as Wii Fit?
I have had all of the games you are referring to for the Wii and here is my reviews. I LOVE Jililan Michaels and I don't think I would have lost all this weight was it not for her DVD's, but her Wii game is not worth the money. I traded it in. The Wii Fit is also another waste of money, IMO. I guess there are a couple of fun games on it, but if you are looking for a hard workout this isn't for you. I just got the EA Active and I am still up in the air on it. I recently switched it up to high intensity because medium just wasn't doing it for me. I am not in incredible shape either. I would consider myself on the intermediate level, but I thought it was too easy. High intensity on the other hand was pretty intense. I was too sore yesterday to work out again, but I am going to do it again today. So far the Active is the most impressive out of all of them. That's just my opinion. Good luck!
