If you want something quick and easy, I love the lean pocket breakfast pockets. They have Suasage, eggs and cheese in them and cook in like 2 minutes in the microwave. They are around 280 calories which is good I think.

Hmmm...I try to have something different for breakfast everyday so I don't get bored. Here are some examples I like:

Kashi Go Lean [or Go Lean Crunch] cereal with fruit [sliced banana, strawberries, or blueberries usually] and skim milk.

Whole wheat pancakes made with wheat germ, flax seed, and oats with sliced fruit and sugar free syrup and a glass of milk.

Oats with honey, flax seed, sliced fruit, and a glass of milk.

Whole wheat toast with peanut butter, fruit, and a glass of milk.

Egg white omelets [add things like reduced fat cheese, any kind of veggies my favs are spinich, tomato, mushrooms, onion, green peppers, salsa, spices], turkey bacon or turkey sausage/veggie sausage.

Whole grain granola bars, fruit, milk.

Smoothies - No Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast packets, skim milk, ice, fruit

Protien drinks - I like EAS low carb, but you can also make a smoothie out of whey protien powder. I like to have fruit with my EAS.

Other healthy options include cottage cheese, string cheese, almonds, any fruit, any veggies, milk, peanut butter, almond butter, sun butter, unsweetened apple sauce, yogurt, whole wheat english muffins. You can have anything for breakfast, it doesn't have to be traditional breakfast foods. It can be anything as long as you stay within your calorie range. You could even have leftover chicken and veggies from dinnner last night, or something like that.

The good thing about oats is you can add a million different things to them so it's different everyday. My DS likes applesauce mixed in with his. I like peanut butter and raisins in mine. Add any type of diced fruit, applesauce, peanut butter, dried fruit, nuts, yogurt, brown sugar, honey, spices, sugar/sugar alternative, frozen fruits, juice, etc... There's a group on CM called Mom Power [it's a Quaker Oats Contest group] and there's a ton of ideas in there, everyone has shared what they like.

Wraps are good too. I just thought of that. Whole wheat tortilla shells and you can add in scrambled egg whites, turkey bacon, turkey/veggie sausage, vegetables, salsa, cheese, etc...

I got a good one.

Make your own english McMuffin.

1/4 cup of egg whites (beaters)

2 slices of canadian bacon

1/2 slice of sharp 2% chedder cheese

one multi-grain english muffin (8 gr of fiber)

1 1/2 cup of fresh strawberries 4 to 6 oz of fat free yogurt and some Nutty Good Granola Snack Mix ( Tastefully Simple order at http://www.tastefullysimple.com/web/tgibson).

This meal is low fat, taste better then McDonalds and you can make 6 sandwiches for under $10.

The Granola comes in a 10oz bag and it is sooooo good!

The eggs and canadian bacon can be prepared in the microwave.  Toast the muffin.  It take 5 min or less.

Here's an article on the benefits of flax seed.

Here's an article on the benefits of wheat germ.

Both of these can be found at health food stores and I think the Wheat Germ can even be found at WalMart.

Also with the oats...you can use a small crockpot. Use two cups of water, 1 cup of oats and put it on the lowest setting before you go to bed. Then when you wake up in the morning its ready for you and nice and hot. If you want you can put fresh fruit like apples in it at night and cook it with it in it. And its fresh and good!

This may sound a little strange, but I like to make my Oat meal (not instant) and add 2 fried eggs to it.   It is balance if you are doing zone or any of the 40-30-30 diets.   And it is really good.
