So, I'm wondering if what I've been eating is enough or if I need to add to it. What do you ladies think?

Breakfast: Carnation Instant Breakfast (made with skim milk)

Mid-Morning Snack: 100 calorie chewy granola bar

Lunch: Smoothie (made with half fresh banana, 5-6 frozen strawberries and 1/2 cup orange juice)

Mid-Afternoon Snack: Half/whole fresh apple or handful of grapes

Dinner: Grilled or baked chicken breast (made with seasoning blend and olive oil), small salad (with a few croutons and light italian dressing) and a small serving of oven roasted potatoes

Does this seem like too much or too little? Any advice would be awesome!

  • Honestly, I think you are eating too little calories. I would do either lunch or breakfast as a liquid drink, but not both. You don't have many veggies in either or whole grains. Try egg whites, whole wheat toast, and turkey bacon for breakfast. Or a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread loaded with veggies for lunch.

  • I think you should eat more...

Keep in mind that an egg is about 80 calories.  You could scramble it and put some salsa on it.  That is quite good.  More veggies will also help you.  :)

  • You are deffinitely not eating enough. Get some grains and a little more protein in there! Its ok to have a whole apple or serving of fruit for snack. Try some whole wheat crackers for a snack sometimes. You will like it!

  • You need to add some more claories. This morning I had two nutrigarin waffles with 1 tablespoon reduced fat peanut butter w/ a few banana slices and made it into a sandwich it was delicious and I was not hungry till lunch time. Very filling and good for you!!!

  •   I would add a yogurt or fruit to the morining meal and for lunch a vegtable and fruit. I have done diets like yours with adding what i said and in 3 months lost 40 pounds with going to the gym.

  • Definatley not a good balanced diet. you need more protein added in, whole grains and vegetables. I dont agree with just a drink for breakfast, breakfast is what replenishes your body after a long night, you actually need more calories then than at lunch. sparkpeople.com is an excellent free weightloss site that if you put your height and weight in it will generalte your coloric/fat/protein needs for a day.
