so the newest season of the biggest loser came on today and i feel newly inspired and i am beyond determined to change my life. i see all these people and they are there, every day, fighting, its literally a battle for their lives. as it is for mine... i need to regain control of me.

i am 19yrs old, 5 ft 4in and 200lbs in a size 15. i'm a full time college student and have a 20 month old son but i will find time to excersise because thats finding time for myslef, i am worthy enough to respect my own wishes and all i want is to look in the mirror and be happy with what i see, and i havent felt that way in a LOOONG time.

I walk alot, and have jillian michaels dvds which im going to start using now, and i even have free access to a gym in my college, which once i find i plan on using 2-3 times a week one of my biggest problem though, as a college student is food, there is a mcdonalds directly across the street from the school...and cheap is easy, but also very fattening... im ready to change my life. Im ready to get healthy, i dont want my choices to continue to define me. my family has a history of kidney disease and my father passed away last year from a massive heart attack, he also had a stroke back in 2000, and both my parents and my sister have hig blood pressure and i almost had it when i was pregnant.

So what i want to know is....Whats your inspiration? or how far have you come in your weight loss journey? (pics are appreciated)

I was at 150 lbs (in a size 10) at my heaviest. I got so tired of not being able to fit into all of my old clothes. That was the biggest thing for me. I started in Jan 09, and lost 32 lbs by the end of may. I am currently in a size 3/4 and I am at 118 lbs.

Anything is possible. It just takes some time! You will mess up from time to time, but you have to be able to pick up where you left off!! If I can do it, anyone can do it!!

My inspiration is having a baby!  My husband and I have a 7 year old daughter and we so want another child!  We tried for a year with no success only to find that my hubs has some fertility issues (daughter is mine from previous marriage).  Well, the stress of a year of TTC plus the fact that I quit smoking packed about 60 pounds on me.  I'm working to lose that so that I can feel comfortable getting pregnant again.  After a (hopefully) happy and healthy pregnancy I plan to lose the last 50 pounds that I have been trying to get rid of since I had my first child!!  So that's it; I want a baby and nothing is going to stop me, not even chocolate fudge!!

What did you do to get where you are?  What kind of exercises and diet did you do?

Nm I found one of your old posts that said what you did but you really look good! It motivates me cause it shows that its possible..I have twenty pounds to go before I get to where you are at so it will take me longer than you but at least you helped me have the courage to keep going :-D

After I lost all my weight I posted this on how I did it. Hope it helps!

Thank you everyone for your replies! I have totally changed my eating and exercising habits. For my exercise-

I workout usually 5-6 days a week. Everyday-I get on the treadmill. I have a hard 30-35 min workout. I do a fast walk, then sprint/jog intervals lasting from 1-2 min at a time. While I am walking in between these intervals I have hand weights that I use and I do arms. After my treadmill workout I hop down and (prepare to laugh) I dance like crazy. I keep on my ipod, pick a good song and go at it. I use my hand weights while doing squats/lunges. I do this for 20-30 min every other day. The in between days I get on the floor for 20-30 min and do abs. I generally do any ab workout you would find on a Pilate's video. I usually end every workout session with some sort of yoga/stretching. It helps me cool down and makes me feel great. I also have to say I have a 10 mo old and a 22mo old (both c section). It is very hard with two kids LITERALLY crawling all over you, but it is possible! - On a side note, I have decided to run a marathon next year. I have never felt so strong and in shape, so I am going to take a chance and see if I can do it!

Eating- I eat several small meals a day consisting of apples, bananas, oatmeal,  grilled chicken breast with veggies, a piece of toast with one piece of cheese(there's more but I'm drawing a blank! lol)- snacks are usually cashews or sugar free gum. I drink lots of water.  Also- I generally splurge once a day and have a small glass of pop. I also splurge a few times a week and indulge in what dh eats ( a piece or 2 of pizza, some spaghetti, maybe a cheeseburger) I don't totally follow the rules!! I feel you should give in once in a while or you will go crazy! lol.

so... I hope that helps out some!

OMG just looking at all the pics here have me so inspired yet wanting to cry at same time...ALL the mamas here should be SO PROUD of themselves I mean I'm almost speechless right now even my hubby is like ask them what routines/eating habits, etc. did they follow.  Just lost a baby in June partially because I'm like 5'3" 215lbs right now (my heaviest btw), stress from my job, & I've developed Type 2 diabetes.  So, its very important that I lose the weight!!!  I usually work from like 7:30 am to 7:30 pm most days--have 2 girls ages 9 and 2.  My days are hectic as you can see but I guess I HAVE to start somewhere.  OMG again ladies my hats off to you allyou rock

Hi there shaniangle, How are you? I am feeling pretty good about my self today. I read your post and I am totally with you on that. I was just over 200 pounds at 18 and I am at an all time flippen high now at a whopping 245 and I hate the way I look. I think you and me both have the same thing in common about wanting to look in the mirror and wanting to be happy with what we see. I have wanted that for myself for so long that its not even funny any more. LOL. Where do you go to college at. I go to North Idaho College. I had to stop for the fall semester though just because I got below a 1.5 GPA and so they wouldn't let me come back this semester.  What are you going for? I was for an LPN but I might switch it to something else that I can acctually pass but something that I love to do. I also have kids. 4 including the 2 that passed away.
