What do you mean a back to back C-section? Meaning you recently had one and are scheduled for another? I don't think they'll put you to sleep unless it's an emergency, for the baby's sake

I never heard of someone being put to sleep through one. I think they'd prefer you to be awake.

I was awake with my c section. If someone has a c section once do they have to have one the next time around?

The doctor will only put you to sleep for certain reasons and wanting to have it done isn't one of them. They don't put you to sleep bc those meds actually can be bad for the baby. I actually had the be put to sleep during my 1st and 3rd c-sections and after my baby was delivered during the 2nd one. There were dire circumstances for all three.

I have had 2 C-Sections and was awake for both. My first was an emergency C-Section, so I had a scheduled one with my second. My kids are 3 years apart. I know some doctors will let you have a VBAC but mine would not. The second one was much easier to recover from if that gives you any hope :)

One of my sister in laws has had 2 c-sections and awake for both.  Another sister in law has had 3 and awake for all 3.  I would think that the risks would be HIGHER for you and your baby if they actually put you to sleep.  That's probably why they don't.  PLUS it would take you a LOT longer before you could see your baby because you would have to come out of sleep before you would even see your baby.

Why do you want to be put to sleep??  I know a needle in your back doesn't sound like fun and I am blessed to have NO CLUE about it.  I would talk to your Dr. about your concerns and find out if they might have other options for you. GOOD LUCK!

No - I had one with my 1st but 2 VBACS after that.
