coloring on walls and furniture!

how do you avoid this? do you punish them?

and how on earth do you get it off the fabric of the couches!?

Mine never did that. Thankfully..

My kids don't get crayons because the little one eats them. Also, we have no light colored fabrics (furniture, carpets, etc) because of this kind of thing.  Magic eraser is supposed to be good at getting crayon off the wall. I've always used toothpaste and a toothbrush.

I am having the same problem with my 2 year old!!! She colors on everything I finally threw all of the crayons away and every time I find one down I chunk it!!! She colored on all of our new sheet rock we havent got it painted yet thank goodness!!! lol And as for my couch she colored on it but I can take the covers off and wash them so it all came out of there!!

I kept the colors up out of reach and they were only allowed to use "art stuff" at the table and were supervised. On the occasion they did find one and colored the walls, they were punished. Magic eraser works great in getting it off walls. They never did color furniture.
