those are really great ideas...you could even use some of those for themes for carepackages for troops!!

 great idea!!! though I personally wouldn't send over glass... but even if you just put all the items in a ziplock baggy it would be great!

I've sent glass overseas.  I just made sure it was packed extra well in bubble wrap and that nothing in the box could shift around...I made my husband cake in a jar.  And it made it over safe and sound.  But yes, even ziplock baggies will work just as well.
