More kids eating detergent packs, docs report

Posted by   + Show Post

Miniature laundry detergent packets arrived on store shelves in recent months as an alternative to bulky bottles and messy spills. But doctors across the country say children are confusing the tiny, brightly colored packets with candy and swallowing them.

Do you use these packs?  Are they up where your children can't get to them?

This story is posted on the front page of cafemom but I didn't know if everyone saw it or even read it.

I've never used them.  I can't imagine they would be any different from dishwashing packs, which we did use when we had a dishwasher.  My daughter never even attempted to taste one of those things much less eat it.  I would imagine it tasts awful!!

Scary...
