How green is your home? Do you recycle? Do you compost? Tell us how you live a green life!

I don't compost..  I DO recycle as much as possible..  I use MOSTLY tupperware so we don't use many baggies and stuff like that..

We use a lot of tupperware too- saves some money for sure!

We used to recycle but we moved to a different state and its a lot harder to recycle here. You can get paid for recycling but you go to the bins and they're always full so you either drive around to 20 different places which is not green, or you take all of it home and try to plan another day to do it, all the while collecting more recycleables. Its really frustrating.

Wow, that sounds like a ton of work!

I use the reusable bags for groceries. I also save plastic and recycle. I try to re-use most everything I can.

Not very. We use energy efficient bulbs and appliances that have great energy star ratings, but that's it. There is no recycling center nearby, and the one that we can go to that's about 45min away charges to use them. We do try to use natural products whenever we can.

Oh yeah I forgot we replaced most of our lights with the energy efficient bulbs too!

We recycle everything.  I have a great compost that I use in my garden.  I even compost dryer lint.  I have 100% organic garden.  We have well water so there are no chemicals going into my ground (unless they are in the rain unfortunately).  I don't buy paper towels anymore, we use old bath towels cut into convenient sizes for cleaning up messes.  I knit dishcloths.  We use half the recommended amount of laundry soap and our clothes are still just as clean.  Last, but I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton, when the kids were babies we used cloth diapers.

I used to have a carbon footprint the size of Montana but I'm trying to clean up my act.

I'm terrible!  We do use vinegar to do a lot of cleaning, I use cloth diapers and make my own laundry detergent.  I really need to start recycling more than what I do.
