We had a GREAT time camping this weekend.. It was a little sad because we were supposed to go on a hot air balloon ride but sadly it was TO windy so we could only do a tethered ride.. It was still amazing and my kids loved it but it wasn't as long or as cool as it could/should have been.. However we did get our money back so that's good, and at least we got to go in a hot air balloon of some sorts.... Next time we're flying at 6am which will totally suck but I REALLY want to do it..
Anyway, we did get to watch the balloons life off on Friday night, and got to enjoy the festival on Saturday and sunday but again sadly it was to windy for them to fly at night..
We got to do some really fun things with the kids and we LOVE camping.. We stayed at a KOA campground, had fun boating, fishing, and swimming in the pool...
HERE are a FEW pictures..

The tethered balloon..

they got to RUN inside an old balloon.. They are TO CUTE!!!

they flew over our campsite in the morning.

S'mores!!! YUMMY!!

Hiking..

My Husband and son in the balloon.. (my parents might have better pictures)..

View from the hot air balloon..
actually my husband and daughter are VERY afraid of heights and they both LOVED it.. It's like you are floating but I was pretty bummed that we had to do a tethered ride.. OH WELL maybe next time..
Quoting psych_mom:Looks like a great time! I would be terrified of going up in a hot air ballon.
My husband just told me that he hopes some day I can overcome it. I hope that the next time you guys can actually take a ride. It does look like it would be fun!

Emily is 5 so we tell her she needs to be brave.. it's a new thing for her and she wants to be brave :).. My husband puts mine over matter and wants to live a full life that's why he doesn't think about the heights he thinks of the fun he'll have :).. Hopefully some day you can also try to put mind over matter but i understand that it's NOT easy... We had a great time..

I have tried- I have bee repelling before as well as doing military ROTC training courses where you have to walk across ropes that are about 30 ft off the ground and I still have issues with heights. If Mathew really wants me to go, I will give it a try. It is great that Emily is able to be brave and over come it now. I think if I would have been able to do it younger like that I would be able to do more things that involve heights now that I am older.

It's NOT easy.. She used to had walking down our stairs because they were to high for her.. It's not like they are any higher than normal stairs AND they turn half way down and we have a railing.. OH WELL she's cute and at least now we can ask her to be brave for us. :) My son HATES trying anything NEW no matter what it is so that's a challenge too.. HAHAHA we are a fun family with all our issues :)
