Question for the bread-makers

Do you use a bread machine or do you do all the work yourself?

I want to start making my own bread but I will be doing everything by hand.No mixers (until i get my kitchen aid!!!), no bread machiene. I'm so worried I am going to fail at bread making! LOL I'm thinking of getting a bread machine if I do fail. lOl..

Any tips, trick, etc??

I do mine by hand with my grandmothers recipe. It's the best bread ever. It took a little while to get it just right though. There are no real measurements so I just had to get a feel for it, lol.

The artisian bread recipe that I listed can be done by hand. The only thing that I did with my machine was mix the ingredients but it gave instructions for hand mixing.

when I've made it (not often and probably never will be) - I've done it byhand.... the first time of doing it alone I made it with buckwheat flour instead of regular floud..... complete fail lol

i have a hand mixer that has a stand & bowl--so it's like a wanna-be kitchen aid. lOl.. but it's not very powerful so i don't even want to attempt to make bread with it. =/

I don't make bread on a regular basis.  I make gluten-free bread for my grandmother about 3 times a month and I do it by hand.  I don't have a bread machine.  Just another appliance to keep up with IMO.
