Gotta love unexpected car repairs while on vacation.

We started our 15 hour drive home yesterday morning. We made it 3 hrs before the car overheated the first time. Added coolant and hit the road again. Broke down for good 7 hours into our trip. I am so hoping our car gets fixed soon. We made it to a town yesterday and have been stuck here since. Thankfully I am able to hang out at a hotel with the kids while the husband deals with the repairs. We are all going a bit crazy being stuck in this room though!

That happened to my family, in '88. We were going to NJ (from IN), to see my sister graduate from basic training and then bring her home. Well, the car decided to start overheating, when we were going through the mountains, in PA. We had to stop several times (once overnight) before we made to NJ. Dad had to get a new radiator for the car and it wasn't very cheap. We ended up missing the first 3 days of school due to having to wait an extra day for the car to get fixed and then we had to drive home.

Our vacation wasn't even supposed to be over until next Sunday but the husband got called off leave. We found an awesome mechanic that has been amazing. They think they have it patched enough to make it home. Then we can replace the part. It is the thermostat casing.

We had a blown tire about 600 miles away from home. Ok a 4 day cross country moving trip. Uhg no gun, put us behind schedule.

We are going to try and make it home tomorrow. The car is bandaged but not fixed. I am so ready to be home!!! Our goal is tO be home by 4 tomorrow afternoon. Here's hoping no more car troubles!
