Does you child's school ask you to provide school supplies for the whole classroom as well as some supplies specific to your child? Or is all the basic supplies provided by your school's funding?

My son's school doesn't require anyone to bring specific supplies but they do publish a wish list each month of supplies they need. For August it was tissue and white board markers.  For September they would like anti-bacterial wipes.  If you want to donate, you bring the supplies to the office and the teachers have a central supply room.

This is the first year we have had to supply anything but how my kids school did it was this :  We had a list for each child but it says on the list that they are going to put all the supplies into a closet for the entire class.   however what most of the teachers are actually doing is keeping them seperate with the kids names on them.  So if you didn't bring in enough glue sticks then they will tell you to buy more if they need more near the end of the year..

Also the teachers have requested additional supplies as far as Kleenex, wipes, soap, stuff of this nature.

Community supplies here. I bought lots of extra to donate as well as plenty for her to have here at home. They are particular about what they can have too.

Our list are a mix- they need colored folders for certain things and they get their own crayons, markers and such in their pencil box with their name on the box, but the paper, pencils and those kinds of things go in a pile and are given out as needed. We also bought extra paper so if the class starts running low we can send more in. This year the teachers didn't ask for Kleenex, baggies, or hand sanitizer like they normally do.

The only things they ask that we supply for the general class are things like tissues and hand sanitizer, things like that.

They sent home wishlists: like 24 pencils, erasers, etc that they'd like for everyone to bring to help support the classroom.

All school supplies are individual(names written on everything, right down to the pencil).Anything leftover at the end of the year comes back home and i reuse it for next yr.
