I *think* we have new neighbors. I haven't actually -seen- the people but there are new cars there.
I'm going to ask around and see if they truely are our new neighbors or not. If so:
I want to make up a little basket for them.
What should I put in it????
I was thinking about doing a neighbor list (after asking the other neighbors first) and putting all our names & numbers in there.
I'd love to do some baked good but then I'm afraid they might have an allergy to something - then I'd look like an awful neighbor! lol
::Update::
It has been confirmed! :) We do officially have new neighbors - however no one knows when their 'offical' move in date is lol
But I have gathered that they are a couple in their 30's.
I got together with a few other neighbors and we are going to go in together to build a basket for them. I'm going to be in control of it but others are donating items and we'll get a card for everyone to sign.
So far this is what we have:
A print out of all the neighbors names and phone numbers
w/ a diagram on the page to show location of said neighbor to them.
Pampered Chef book
(one of our neighbors sells it - you never know! They might need something!! lol)
Spices - going to use Rachel's phrase for it
Bottle of Wine - again Rachel! lol
Homemade loaf of bread - Rachel!
Misc Veggies (from my Uncle's garden)
Small bouquet of flowers - something other than roses lol
I'm also going to include some cookies OR a pumpkin roll
I also thought that if we could get enough in donations:
Doing a small box of those items you need but never have
like WD-40, super glue, mutitip screwdriver, etc
Good Idea - Thanks!!!
Quoting Roo1234:
Maybe take-out menus for some good nearby restaurant's.
Maybe a basket like you would for someone's housewarming party? Some bread, salt, wine (or sparkling cider!), all in a cute basket? ...you can even add in some crackers, cookies (store bought, so they know the ingredients if there's an allergy), maybe some chocolate, coffee, etc.
And you can attach signs to the items (it's from the movie It's A Wonderful Life btw :)
•Bread - that this house may never know hunger.
•Salt - that life may always have flavor.
•Wine - that joy and prosperity may reign forever.
........at least that's what I do for housewarming/new neighbor gifts :)
I love this! How cute!
