The Uh-Oh Jar

Uh Oh Jar - LOVE this idea. It was getting hard always sending to their room or to the corner. Nothing seemed to change - but now...I'm making a consequence jar like this. Whining? Pull out a consequence. Talking back? Pull out a consequence. Not picking up your things? Pull out a consequence, maybe you'll get "Your lucky day. No consequence THIS TIME."

Saw this picture on pinterest, clicked on it but it only brought me to a bigger picture of the same thing.

The description under in on pinterest says "Uh Oh Jar - LOVE this idea. It was getting hard always sending to their room or to the corner. Thought some of the mom's in here would like the idea :)

What are some "Consequences" that you'd put in the jar??

Love this idea!
I would put in there..
No netflix
no video games
No tv
No park time
No chuckecheese
No paint time / craft time

Things like that work well for our girls.

1 mom liked this

I've never personally done it. But I don't see how it could hurt to try it if you're (general you) having a difficult time.

For the older kids (nieces/nephews) when they whine I make them tell me 5 good things about their life (and they can't repeat the same thing ). My niece was horrible with whining over everything till I started this. She said about 20 things and then after that she never whined the rest of the weekend.

Mine would be "do 10 jumping jack" "do 15 pushups". My children are often whiney and rotten when they haven't gotten enough physical action that day. Excerise releases endorphins which helps put them in a better mood! LOL

Though I'm sure "No tv" or "lose a toy" would work too.
