mono???--- UPDATE I think it's just a cold..

Posted by   + Show Post

I think my so might have mono... he was tested for strep today and it was negative. He has a temp of 100.4 and is acting lethargic. Poor thing. Anyone have a young kid withono? My brother had it as a teen. I'm planning on calling the dr tomorrow. He just went to the lab today for the strep test but the dr office was closed.

I'm sure he will be fine it just stinks to see your kid sick. :(

Any suggestions??

UPDATE:

I wasn't home all weekend but my parents were here..  Anyway, I think he was just busy with my parents here plus their cousins here visiting.  It might have just been to busy and maybe he was fighting a bit of a bug.. I'm keeping an eye on him..  He says he seems better to try to go to school.  He doesn't feel warm today so I don't know..  HHMM

Thanks for listening.. I hate when my kids are under the weather..

OK glad he is feeling better today :)

I don't think he has is..  He seems better today.. Maybe just a bug and since Mom wasn't here Gram just did her thing when really he needed to sleep.  Also he had his cousins here so he didn't go to bed early.  Last night I made him to go bed early so I think he just has a bug.   THANKS :)

Quoting hugss:

My oldest ds had it when he was in 1st grade :(
Keep him comfy, hydrated & let him sleep.
Hugs to you all ;)

My brother had it in high school..

Glad he is doing better. About 95% of the population carry the virus for mono but it actually only effects a very small percent of the population, so he will be exposed at some point, but hopefully when he is older.

So you probably have the virus in your body but it never effected you at all. The virus that causes mono is the virus that causes Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and can cause problems for some people for many years.
